Form Of Death

The road of life ends for all

Coming to a close, with either bang or whisper

It comes to everyone, both good and evil

The greatest equalizer

And the world all imagine death as someone to be feared

A cloaked figure

Tall, imposing

Weapon raised to rip us from our lives

But this is not the true image of death

Death is a woman

Beautiful and smiling

Pale as moonlight

She puts a hand on your shoulder

Comforting you from the shock of leaving the world

She does not rip one from life

Instead she is the escort

Leading souls on their journeys through her realm

Loving all, whether good or evil

Seeing you in all the ways your closest family never has

Loving anyways

I know I will one day meet her

That her sad smile will be for me

And I will hold off as long as I can

Living as well as I can

But I can honestly say

I look forward to it
