Forsaken Occasion

Sunsets dance

White-yellow glow on paper screens

My only candlelight

As I write this for you

A cold room, a lonely room

Bland and bald

And full of chill

In skin, in heart

Achy chest and empty hands

Chasing tails like playful puppies I don't have

Cruel animals

Their wanderings never cease

An empty chair, a black chair

Full of stars falling from my eyes

Deep as space and just as dark

Of yearning for you

And here I sit

In the candlelight of sunsets

A sparkling chandelier

And a lonely night
