The description

of the prescription

 for recognition

is motivation

Some say

We are motivated

To become educated

To overcome the over-estimated,

Aggravated stereotype

That we carry

Of course,

The entirety of our society

Shows even a majority has no authority

Over their own destiny

Nor fate

But this generation’s intention is supposed to be

to stop all and any forms of segregation

Though seen as an abomination decades ago,

The continuation of the practice

Is still present

Black is a label that signifies “unable”

Economically unstable

Academically incapable

Simply because our skin is sable means this is all fable;

Not the spoken truth

What am I trying to say?

Your intelligence isn’t based on your violin

Your personality isn’t based on your twin

Your emotions aren’t based on your grin

So why be defined just by your skin?

But my own description

of the prescription

 for recognition is

To fit in for once with my brothers

Instead of being known as insignificant others.
