This is for….

This is for the girl that looks in the mirror and hates what she sees. This is for the girl that spends her time with her head in the clouds rather then in the books never really wanting to come down to earth because the reality that she faces is too painful. This is for the little girl that dreams beyond the box she’s put in for, for the woman that built herself worth out of the lies she was handed. This is for the girl with the booming voice and the loud spirit, for the girl that looks out the window and sees words on every rain drop. For the grandmothers who made the women that created girls who grew up and changed the world beyond the walls they placed them behind and the boxes that society put them in. This is for the girl who put down the Barbie doll and picked up the hammer. The girl that wasn’t afraid to smile in the midst of worry and laughed hard in the face of defeat, but most importantly this is for the grandmothers who made the women that created the girls who never got the chance to let the world hear her voice. This is for that girl, those girls, and all the girls around the world that speak volumes with out sound and change the world with out knowing.
