Foster Care

When I went into foster care,
I didn't know what to do.
If you are in foster care,
then this poem is for you.

When I was with my family,
it was a lot of fun.
But when I had to leave,
a whole new like began.

Home after home.
I've been in so many.
After the fifth home,
I didn't care any.

But when I got to my eighth,
I felt like I was wanted.
And by living there,
I became loved and got adopted.

So don't you fret.
You will survive.
If you believe,
You're forever home will arrive.

I wrote this in sixth grade when I was feeling a lot of sadness and loss over being in foster for so long. I had to leave my mom, my sisters, my dad died when I was four, and I felt like I wasn't wanted because I was never able to stay very long in one place to get settled very well. I hope you guys like this and feel inspired.
