Found
I woke up this morning to watch the sun rise,
It was nice to see beauty that was' in your eyes.
You may be gone but today I didn't feel so alone.
Someday soon, I'll find a place to call home.
There are moments when it feels so real again,
The memories, the heartache, and all the things I should've said.
But time heals all wounds and you're no exception.
One day I'll find the guy who's worth my attention.
My heart doesn't ache as much when you're near.
And I'm finding you're just a waste of all my tears.
It's not always easy but I'm getting stronger every day.
Finding my passions and washing my worries away.
My world still turns when you're not around.
For so long I was lost in your eyes, but it's time to be found.
The nights were too long, and the days weren't always good.
I'm sure there's someone new to stand where I once stood.
So here's to a future that won't make me bitter,
Because I've learned I deserve so much better.
There are moments when I miss having you near.
I used to think losing you was my greatest fear.
But feelings work both ways,
So over time I realized I couldn't stay.
Maybe one day you'll realize I was the one you wanted.
By then I'll be long gone, and our memories will be haunted.
I can't tell you that you never cross my mind,
But the past is the past, and I don't want to rewind.
I'm learning to live without you consuming my dreams.
My heart is being stitched back together at the seams.
I stayed up tonight to watch the sun set.
It was nice to feel like I wasn't upset.
You may be gone, but I think I found my way.
I'm so glad I realized you couldn't stay.
