Fount of Every Blessing

Flaming arrows flash from the Cupidian branch
And fiery Vulcan envies the rivers plunging my iron frame into Grecian forges.
The aqueducts first and pipes second,
Which so deliver to my skin the desired prophecy.
Working that silver handle,
Offering my hand to the sibyl and hearing her divination,
I was promised the wealth to my body, daily rewarded by gods' providences.
The molten rain descends onto terrestrial stone and satisfies my Aphroditan lust for warmth,
And hot skin rejoices in divine providence until the icy fist of vengeful Hades turns the shower handle to blue,
And thus go I, into the frozen Underworld.
