Four Empty Chairs

A dinner table, Standing alone Four empty chairs You can lightly hear a sound In the background. The father watching television With his food in his lap Four empty chairs In the kitchen stands the mother At her counter Clip clipping her coupons Tired of takeout Four empty chairs In her room Spread out on the bed The daughter barely eats Too busy comparing herself to magazines Four empty chairs In the basement Sits the son Fork in one hand Game controller in the other Four empty chairs A dinner table Standing alone Four empty hearts
