Four Seasons Call

Summer

Naked feet burn and blister on the steamy concrete,

children run free like wild animals, tearing through everything in their paths.

Ice cream melts and quickly dissolves into the grass, like a worm digging back home.

Fall

Moms fight a constant battle to get children out of bed each morning.

Trees dance naked in the teeth-chattering winds,

and rain droplets splatter on the ground leaving dents in the softened earth.

Winter

Feet are bundled up in boots like an Eskimo,

fingers and toes are numb.

Frost kisses the grass and little footprints can be seen across the fields.

Spring

A fever spreads in record time to children itching to get away from school.

birds sing luring people to take a break and join in,

and the flowers bloom and ask us to indulge in their sensual smell.
