Four years Left
Four years left of this heavy air,
A slow-motion walk through the gray.
I am quiet now, but I am counting—
Waiting for the clock to strike a different age.
We talk about the "after."
The way the world will finally open up.
Eighteen is a doorway I haven't reached yet,
A place where the yelling finally fades out.
You’ve been the one constant,
A steady hand since we were three.
No more masks,
no more blank faces.
Just the life we promised ourselves,
Waiting on the other side of the calendar.
