Fragile
Fragile
Because I love you,
I promise I won't squeeze my fingers too tight
suffocating you like grains of sand that will eventually drip through my fingers
because I loved you too much.
I will sacrifice my bleeding heart, and let you free
Unchaining you so you can fly far far away from me to the sea.
Then you would love me back; if you come back.
When the little bird perches on my finger again, I know you are mine, the one
I vow to cherish forever...putting your happiness first.
My ears will hear every fear and hope, my eyes your dreams.
My hands will hold you, wiping your tears, and gently treating you with care,
Cooking chicken soup and holding back your hair.
Rubbing your feet and keeping promises,
I will bring you flowers even when your smile is weathered and old,
yet eternally young as always.
Please don't forget about me little bird if you go,
That I have loved you the way you deserved
But if you leave, don't worry about I, whom
will be happy if you are.
If you stay I wouldn't want life any other way.
And if we love one another the way we truly should,
We could be a beautiful, yet fragile dove to be hatched.
Because I love you I will not keep this dove for myself, but set it free to love in it's own way.
