Fragile Lace Curtain

Location

I hide behind my curtain

Curls, glasses, and skirt

Concealed, I hide inside afraid to be seen

For the promises of acceptance aren't real

The lies and broken promises heighten my fear

I am not brave, I am fragile

the facade is strong and sturdy

the inside is raw and timid

I am too fragile to be seen

I hide behind my curtain

Lace and see through

but its a beautiful distraction from what its hiding

no one sees the anxiety

Fear drowns me as I try to remove the veil

I am not brave, I am fragile

I am too fragile to be seen
