Fragile Mind Heals With Time
I was once a small fragile mind, fed by the spoon,
A small fragile mind that was poorly groomed.
Waiting to be walked, never walking on my own,
Always following the people with a mind of a clone.
I sought for acceptance hoping to belong,
But oh what a shame I was painfully wrong.
In world without perfection, how could that be my goal,
Constantly following everything that I was told.
Then it came to my attention that this can’t be
And instead I have to learn how to live free.
Live without chains pulling me down,
And ignoring that loud and horrible sound,
That sound of people telling me “no”
But it's my time to shine, expand and grow.
I will take up all the space in the world that I need
Because I am important and want to be freed.
I’ve learned to love myself in all its entirety
Regardless of all the disapproval from society.
I also learned to not be so self involved
Because people are out there crying with a call.
A call for help that we must give,
Because how can I be happy when others struggle to live.
It is my duty to return what I’ve gained
Because everyone deserves love and a life without pain.
Our struggles are always going to persist
But I want to help ease them so we can all coexist.
Life is a gift that should be treasured not despised
So allow me to help you open your eyes,
We are all here, we are important and we matter
So may your life be filled with laughter.
It takes patience, just let life flow,
Then you can watch your glow-up and see how you grow.
