Fragments

Tonight

I will write.

from the heart

but I don’t know.

because

by the end of this poem

it will be torn apart

and I will still be alone.

I question now,

should I continue

and we both know I do

because

I admit

I’d do anything for you.

Where to start?

and where to end?

are my questions

hand and hand.

I guess I could begin by saying

my heart has been breaking.

and I guess it’s not that strong.

it’s been broken

for so long

the pain

it’s aching.

Never been mistaken

our timing was tragically wrong

and I can no longer prolong

something that’s already gone.

My words are not working

on this particular night.

it’s all said and done.

I lost my light.

There’s nothing I can do

nothing I can say

nothing that will keep this pain away.

I could bruise

I could bleed

and still would merely need

one thing

and one thing only

Oh shit

I can’t finish.

but we knew from the start

this would end with a broken heart.

do not mistake this

for quitting.

I miss you.

I do.

but I don’t want to waste anymore words

describing

my one sided love

for

an inconsiderate

lustful

piece of poo.
