Frankenstein, The Girl

I have my aunt’s face,

My mother’s eyes,

My father’s sickness.

I am the summation of a dozen bodies.

Pieces of my family sewn onto me.

But I am not Frankenstein, the girl.

I am not a corpse.

From melancholy I do not decay.

If depression be my master I will not listen.

I will gnash my teeth;

Refusing, coping, learning,

This.rotten blood does not will me.

I am a cacophony of light,

A prism, I choose my colors.
