Freckles

Once upon a time I was still in healing

So I scribbled into a notebook a list

Of things I love about myself

To help myself recover

And number one on the list was

“The freckles on the back of my shoulders”

This is still one of my favorite things about myself

But last night I noticed

On the back of your shoulders

Are little galaxies of freckles

Identical to mine

Everyday I learn

I love you just a little more

And more
