Who am I? What can i be?

I've been broken and stepped on;

set aside.

I've been mocked and tested;

torn and tried.

Though my scars are dark

from my wounds so deep,

my heart, it sings me fast to sleep.

With bigger dreams comes greater pride.

Finally there's someone by my side.

Full of truth, no room for hate;

my heart sees depth in each person's face.

But... who am I? What will I be?

What will becone of the hated me?

I know for sure I'll make it new;

my life, it dreams of loving all.

It dreams of being there

to protect others from scars.

Scars like mine, I couldn't see

upon another soul like me.

Wasted wishing, hopelessness, tears;

Now I sing with joy, with a helping heart,

with a song of love, and a glistening spark.

To help, I see is great a need.

Those young ones who walk like a mirror of me.

Who am I?

so plain to see.

Free.

That's what I am.

That's who I am.

That's what I will help others be.
