Have you ever watched a bird fly in the morning sky? Its wings gentle as the wind brushes beneath. No steady direction just soaring, flying just to see what lies on the other side. Free from frustration and pain. The pain from the world that may fall on its shoulders. The frustration of guilt that has been planted in its soul. Guilty for lying for trying to kill what makes it who it is. Only wishing to jump off the highest building and have nothing but air lift it afloat. I quench for my wings but at last this is only a dream. The wind as my song and the sky as my love. This is why I write for me and others to gain our wings. To feel the cooling breeze in the morning and see nothing but the stars at night. To escape the past to have a present. To understand the present to have better a future. To figure out who I am and to become what I dream… A bird spreading its wings.
