Look back, touch the sky or

Even the fluff that stares back at your eyes

The cloud that grows

Meaning with

Every breath, you take your steps to

Feel success, to books and long nights

Regretting staying up

Eyes, like glass

Earnest, you should be

Looking to your reflection

You’re no longer innocence

No longer the laugh of joy you get when you

Won cotton candy from the fair

That reminded you

Of the cloud

That grows

Every breath

You take steps back

Rewind the tape

That makes up your entire core

On a walk you find yourself

Looking at the ground

Instead of the sky

That gifts you its sugar

Look up

And tell yourself

let me be
