I write to free my thoughts To rid myself of the constant closure To expose my intelectual being To express my emotions securely I write to free my thoughts With every stroke of the pen, a part of me is released Safely I communicate and open up Whether the topic of my poems be good or tough to understand It is my way to be creative I write to free my thoughts Unleashing my minds cap of secrets Exploring my creativity deep within Letting others be apart of who I am Sharing new ideas that provoke action I write to free my thoughts Because I am inspired to show gratitude to those who came before me Because I respect the words of others and want mine to be repected as well Because I enjoy the realness and feeling of a poets masterpiece of language I write to free my thoughts I write for me, those before me, and those who will come after.
