Freedom

Tue, 04/07/2015 - 10:14 -- Tabatha

Freedom.

Freedom to fly like an eagle,

Freedom to burrow like a rabbit.

Freedom to do what I want.

Freedom to be who I am.

Freedom for me.

Freedom for you.

Freedom is not always being able to do what you want.

Freedom is not always not being told what to do.

Freedom is not always free.

Freedom is fought for.

Freedom is conquered.

Freedom is not free.

Freedom has a price.

Freedom has a price that I did not pay.

Freedom's price was paid by THEM.

THEY paid the price for my freedom, your freedom, our freedom, THEIR freedom.

THEY should be respected, THEY should not have to fight the fight for THEIR freedom over and over again, even at home.

THEY should have what THEY deserve.

THEY deserve the life of freedom back home that THEY fought for.

THEY fought for our freedom, THEY deserve it, too.

THEY have the right to a home, the right not to be ridiculed.

THEY should be held on a pedestal, THEY should be revered.

But, no, THEY are not.

THEY fought for our freedom, not THEIRS.

Freedom is not free.
