freedom

Im going to write this poem

its to be read just as its wrote

what is said is what is meant

my body is stretched across the edge

of a balcony

this part of the world is asleep

im far from home

thoughts that havent come to me in years

fill me now

the rain is falling

I cant breathe enough of the smell

I let my toes out

then the rest of my legs

i slowly soak myself

I wonder why you come to my mind now

when youve been gone for so long

this is freedom if i had to guess

I wonder where i would be if insead

I was sleeping

it feels like a dream now

I thank god its a memory
