Freedom
Society is wretched elegance
Society is heartbreakingly lovely
Society is a wolf in sheep’s clothing
Society drowns you in deep, murky waters
Society is infected
Conformity is a widespread lethal disease
The weak are whisked away
Only the strong remain
Society shackles
Shackles freedom
Shackles hope
Shackles character
Shackles intelligence
The shackles firmly grasp my ankles with strong, colossal hands and yank me under the surface
Drowning in ignorance around me
Books are my life raft
I latch on and start to breathe
My head brinks the surface
I’m holding on by the skin of my teeth
Dancing is my one way ticket out
Music overwhelms my senses
My heart races as if I’m running a never ending marathon
I lose myself to the pounding music as my body glides gracefully across the room
I dance as if I’ll never dance again
Beads of sweat trace trails down my face
I ignore them as I remember why I’m here
Nothing can beat the exhilaration
The exhilaration of freedom
