Freedom...

What is freedom? Is it tangible, is it free Can it break chains, remove bounds Or does it act as modern slavery? When does freedom come? Is it for the old, the wise Does my age oppress me Or does it prosper in wasted lives? Where does freedom lie? Is it lost with time, or shadow by fear Will it ever find me, or even look For a young girl who life started here. Is freedom free for a little girl with tan skin Of foreign roots and American ends. What is freedom, I must ask When freedom isn't free.
