America is supposed to be a place of freedom for all people
But the homosexuals aren't allowed to get married in some places
And even still they don't get the rights they deserve
Women aren't treated equally in the workplace
Men are paid more than women are
Today there is still prejudice in the world
Why can't America get it together?
They promise freedom and equality
I mean it's what this country is founded on right
But when you get here you realize it's only for certain races and people
Am I wrong to want peace and freedom for all people?
I hope someday we will ALL have freedom for real
FREEDOM IN AMERICA is what I want and you should too!
It's time for us to practice what we keep telling the world
America needs a change and we can make it happen
It's a new day and it's time for a new America
So who is with me in this fight for freedom and equality
We have gone to long without it but that can all change today
