Freedom on Four Wheels

Hours of work piled up to one moment Sweat glistening on my brow Through the summer's sweltering heat I take no heed, thinking about: The low hum of the engine with the turn of my key; The cool blast of air conditioning; The ease of the pedal under my foot; The supple cushion providing a delicate ride; The steady laser of light protruding from the front glass portals; The energizing aroma floating throughout the enclosed perimeter... At last, I am free! This will take me to forgotten trails of which I have never dreamed. Trees fly by, Memories fly by, The future flies by, I pay no mind All I want to do is drive, drive, drive. In solitude, I pass on, With only myself and the notes to collide In imperfect unison, deep in thought Of what is to come in this trip Known as life.
