Freedom Only Known by Those Who Write

Thoughts in my head scream to be set free,

"Please stay in Your Prison", to God I pray But as I look up through your eyes I know I can't make those thoughts stay. On the brink of an idea most important, To allow you to understand In me and endless chasm of emotion, But words can bring the promise land. And as I open mouth to speak, My thoughts will slip away and slam the door And silence answers, naked and ashamed the connection lost forever more. But pen hits paper, a sword for war In name of the passions That lie deep within us, but aloud we ignore. And words plunge like crimson blood, Eternally down the page Beautiful words we knew not existed Only come in writer's rage. Were it not for the pen, Could we ever be set free? Or would thoughts fester within us? Chaos, and tumultuous like the sea.
