The Freedom to Write

Poetry is the reflection of the soul in you

intangible, but wrenching hearts askew.

It contains the dreams and hopes for life.

It tells the tale of endless strife.

It talks of love, of hate and crime.

It speaks of eternity, of endless time.

And one spring, summer, fall, or winter day

with the good to stay and the bad, blown away,

Poetry will be the key to finally set me free

From the mirrored me I wish not to be.
