Freedom's conception

Ecclesiastes 10:7

7 I have seen slaves on horseback
and princes walking on foot like slaves.

Bondage

Give me life and liberty ... this is a free country.

Line up all the victims ... glued to the TV.

Cut the arteries of bondage ... the lifeline of the bounty

that awaits the addicted ... who call themselves free.

The great escape from reality ... to get far away from self.

Move into a dimension ... fully designed in the world.

Never more to mention ... that purpose can’t tell

the difference in “life” and existing ... as they together swirl.

Black and white are spinning ... into shades of the color grey.

Truth becomes a broken thought ... in the middle of the road.

Action replaces reasoning ... a place where none wants to pay

as indifference expands and builds ... and insensitivity grows.

The norm of thoughts and feelings ... become shifting sand.

Stability now just a memory ... from a far removed civilization.

A world that now hungers ... for a filled helping hand

that is attached to a body ... lost in its own frustration.

Answers blowing in the wind ... wrapped in shady doctrine

Everyone wants to believe ... with self in the center

Dying to self an art form ... like a well-designed machine

that can be turned off and on ... as one wants to mentor.

Word and deed at war ... the last seems the looser.

The way to hell as always ... paved with good intentions.

Being fully “free” ... in the jails of our own choosing

and in such trying to show ... the “Way” through imagination?
