Sisters

Since the day I was born, your love for me began

You were the one that took me out on adventures

And every time I would end up laughing like a madman

Not even a decade of difference could change our bond

I would always look up to you

You were the one to help me out in school

At the end of the day me turning to you wasn’t anything new

You were the one to tell me that it was okay if I wasn’t ‘cool’

Life, school, and relationships were some of the things you taught me

Years later and our bond is still strong

But now you’ve given me a great gift

You have a little one of your own

Now it’s my turn to give what you did for me

A greater joy I don’t think I could have been given

And thank you just doesn’t seem like it will ever be enough
