Freeze Frame
Dear future me,
When you look back at your life,
I hope that you don’t remember the stills of yourself
that were spent worrying about frivolous problems.
When you look through the lens of your past,
I hope that you don’t remember the nights you spent
wondering why you weren’t good enough for him.
When you look at the snapshots of your life,
I hope that you remember the moment when you finally found happiness,
how hearing your best friend’s laugh gave you joy,
how you felt accomplished when the late nights studying paid off,
and how your baby brother would make you laugh by singing his favorite song at the top of his lungs.
When you look at your life today,
I hope that you’re happy,
I hope that you never gave up,
and I hope that you never forgot where you came from.
When you evaluate who you’ve become,
I hope that you still visit your parents,
I hope that you laugh every single day,
and I hope that you still look for the good in everyone you meet.
Looking to the future,
I hope that you grow old with someone you love,
I hope that you live out your dreams,
and most importantly,
I hope that you never stop being you.
With love,
