French Park

One day we drove to French Park
The sky began to darken, purple and black
Parked by the side, headlights turned off
We spread out a blanket beneath a great tree

The sky began to darken, purple and black
A smile in my eyes, so blissfully happy
We spread out a blanket beneath a great tree
With stars shimmering brightly in every direction

A smile in my eyes, so blissfully happy
“Wait here” you whisper, running of shyly
With stars shimmering brightly in every direction
You return, quite quickly, a guitar in hand

“Wait here” you whisper, running of shyly
Shivering I lay, wrapped up in blankets
You return, quite quickly, a guitar in hand
Strumming a tune, my favorite, a new

Shivering I lay, wrapped up in blankets
You smile, you hug me, we shine so bright
Strumming a tune, my favorite, a new
We lean in together, sharing our warmth

You smile, you hug me, we shine so bright
Freezing cold weather, arriving too quick
We lean in together, sharing our warmth
And look at the stars, still shining up high

Freezing cold weather, arriving too quick
We smile at eachother, content with our pick
And look at the stars, still shining up high

One day we drove to French Park
