"Frenemies at War"
We come in the door and the fuckers are laughing,
But they shut the hell up when we up and crack ‘em
In the head, the gut, the shin and the back and
They start begging for mercy and then resort to crying.
We leave ‘em bleeding in the floor, waiting to die,
But from the bottom of my heart comes the question of “Why?
Why beat ‘em to a bloody pulp and just leave ‘em to die?
Why come in and start a fight, just to take flight
When the life they have to live is lost when they die?”
To be honest, I don’t know why
I do the things that I do, so I come up with lies.
I was told not to look back at the boys we left to die,
But I couldn’t help myself, so I looked back and I cried.
I thought to myself I just can’t take their lives.
So I KO’d my so-called “friends” and I ran to the sides
Of the bleeding poor guys that just laid there fighting,
Trying to keep from dying.
This is America and in two places we’re fighting:
At home with friends and family,
And overseas with blood enemies.
Now tell me that freedom’s worth fighting for
When the roles are switched and the rich become the poor
And are forced to live or die in this gang war!
Frenemies at war (X2)
Frenemies at
Wars are never what we crack ‘em up to be
When the lives that are but a fee
To cover the cost of the freedom that should really be free.
Overseas are men that fight in uniform
Who’ve been fighting so long, they’ve forgotten what for.
But when men and women are dying on America’s porch
We turn away and we slam the door,
Then we call the men in blue to come and lock up the corpse.
They say all’s fair in love and war,
But if this is fair, I don’t want it anymore.
Why call it warfare when there’s nothing fair in war?
With drive-byes and shootings, oh the blood and gore.
Open the doors and put an end to the war.
Frenemies at war (X3)
Today,
It’s a brother betrayed,
A plane delayed,
And Fate at the door;
Tomorrow it’ll be
A man hanging from a tree,
A flight attendant missing
And a little kid in a store...
Frenemies at war…
Frenemies at war.
