Fresh Faces

Fresh faces

full of hope and excitement

for the next four years.

I was once at that point,

Scared yet excited

Not being able to wait to get out.

As the years have gone by

I see fresh faces

That I know will fade over time.

This final year

My mind has been throbbing

with reality setting in

that my life is about to begin

Fresh faces

Not knowing how fast time flies

Instead of hellos

There will be goodbyes

Fresh faces

Mixing with the tired

The hopeless

The terrified

Faces

That they will unknowingly become

That feeling of being proud

And finally accepted

That one can only feel

By being a fresh face
