Freshman Heart Attack

I will be an Engineer.

They are telling me it’s not affordable.

I should consider another career.

Who believes in me?

All I wanted was to go to a good school.

Is this great school going to fulfil my expectations?

Or will it propel me into debt?

I’m only eighteen, but today I feel like an adult.

I am fighting for career, health, and finances

Words like tuition and financial aid,

Tell me numbers I do not want to here.

I know I will get through because,

I will be a Biomedical Engineer.
