Freshman Year
I met you my first day of freshman year.
I saw you ever day at the end of the day,
And some times during lunch and between classes.
I came to you when I truly needed someone in that moment
And in that moment you were always there for me.
Even when I came literally in the middle of your classes,
You made time to come and see me as I sat in the back crying.
Anytime I needed an inspirational talking to,
You were the one I ran to with no problem.
We have literally talked about everything under the sun,
From my stupid socks to the reasons why I dated my ex's.
I will always see you as a mentor because in my eyes
That's exactly what you are.
You were my favorite person to look forward to the next three years of hell.
I made it my duty to go and see you before my classes started on the first day,
Even missed my bus once or twice just to stay and talk to you about my classes.
You will always be truly appreciated in my eyes as well as my mom's,
Even though you moved schools, you still take time to check on my brother.
He won't get to experience your mentorship for the next 2 years,
But I know that he knows that you're always there behind the scenes.
I met you on first day of freshman year,
And saw you at the end of every day.
