Freshman Year

Freshman Year

guided by beautiful wolves

with glass pipes

likes flutes,

I found shelter beneath

their umbrella arms.

my love ,

my idol.

with bubblegum hair

allowed me to become a shadow

a soft spectator

well loved.

she growled at the reptiles

who disguised themselves

as artists

as indigo children

as human.

this cotton candy knight

was uncompromising

embedding self worth into her naive apprentice

showing that is it okay

to run

and fight

and kill,

and spit out the bones of men

who try to make a lamb

out of her beastly kin

who now bears locks

of the same pink hue.
