A Friend
What is there to say when the days seem to fade away,
The sound of your name throws me into the fray,
Where I now stay writing your blood stains on this page,
Poured the pain that pesters your brain into this friend,
Akin to a lover but the intimacy rescinded, I've amended
My heart to comfort you when you die in the dark,
You shed tears and needed me in order to bear,
Sometimes I pray to the god I know is not there
for you to be right here so I could lay my emotions bare,
On occasion I believe you don't care,
Using my kindness in order to survive your hurdles,
Constantly reviving you after she burns you when you tell her you love her so,
I know I can't leave you there alone,
When the darkness comes to claim your soul,
But the strain on my emotions is taking its toll,
And I can't care for you the way I did before,
Though I'll always be here for you when you fall,
Being so close- Yet so far way-
Is not an option if I am to remain sane,
So call my name if you're feeling the pain,
But know it paralyzes to be just a friend.
