Friend

When I first saw you

I thought you were like the others

But when I got to know you better

I began to see something special

I began to see a person

A person who I could talk to

A person who wouldn’t judge me

A person who I could tell my secrets too

A person who would help me when I was in trouble

That person who I now call friend

But it didn't stop there

My friend began to change my being

My friend that understood me like no other

And I understood them as well as the back of my hand

My friend that turned my frown upside down

With just looking at me and smiling

My friend who eventually became

My best friend
