A Friend is All I Need

In 18 years, oh the places you’ll go

Two countries, seven schools, and multiple languages I don’t know.

But the world seems so small when alone against it you stand,

Like being stranded on an island with my feet in the sand.

The sun is always shining, and my eyes are squinted so tight,

But without a friend, something just doesn’t feel right.

The water feels cold, and the blue skies are look sharp,

But no beautiful scenery can fill a hole in my heart.

A happy smile and a face, any person will do,

All I need is a friend, so what about you?

Does the thought of an adventure excite you so?

Does it make you think of all the places you’ll go?

18 years has yielded so much, and there are so many more ahead of me,

But all I need is a friend who will share those years alongside of me.
