Friend and Foe

I envy those that shine in the light,

Those who aren't afraid to fight

for who they are.

For every time I think it's time,

For every time I say that this moment, this one is surely mine,

The fear comes crawling back

The danger too much to simply pass.

For the girl behind the mask is not the same

As the little girl they used to know

And oh how hard it is, to tell the truth not knowing

Just who is friend

and Foe.
