A Friend Indeed
You are what I can't see in myself,
a note played so sweetly.
You placed the loving book on my shelf,
and read to me discreetly.
Our road was paved with fear and pain,
enough to cost us our friends.
It ate me up, drove me insane,
so you tied up our loose ends.
Though I am not all I must,
I thank you for your time.
I'm glad we saved our love and trust
through all the dirt and grime.
So burn up all your worry,
drown all of your hatred.
We strive for a better story,
and the embrace of something sacred.
