A Friend Not Just a Lover

Might not be like every guy I talk to

But you hugged me like you knew

You understood my pain

You laughed with me

Made me realize I'm strong

On my own or with you

You made me calm

It's like you knew ever button to press

I gave no instructions or manual

It's like you already had the master plan

To understand me

You may not stay

You might leave me

But I appreciated every moment

Every ounce you gave to me

Because my heart was all over the place

After I let a man hold my treasure

And I tried to keep it together

And yes I fell deep for you

But I was hurt

And you tasted like a new dessert

That I wanted to keep trying

But you told to relax and just

Chill

And hopefully everything will reveal in due time

But thank for fooling with me

and keeping me company

Because I found a friend

To be cool with

And let him hit for a bit
