A Friend of Value
Back when I was with you
I was never worried about tomorrow
I never kept track of time
Never put notes on side tables
When we separated
everything seemed new
Everything seemed scary
Everything made stressful
Everything was ruined
You were my comfort
you erased my pain
You made me feel the star of this world
You gave me value
Then when you left
I was the villain again
Of my thoughts and feelings
I kept on being chased
In my dreams hoping you'd appear
You were the curtain
Who kept me on the bright side
You love my flaws and mistakes
Never told me to change them
You loved the rain
And taught me to love them too.
You showed me how to love
To run wild in the storm.
You make me laugh by hearing you laugh
we make fun out of the silliest things
Create joy out of garbage bins
Bring fantasy into our realms
We point out other's imperfection
But we're imperfect too
And you knew that
You were my idol and fantasy
