A Friend Like You

The sun shines bright

When the sky is blue,

And I only see the light

When I’m with you,

Like an angel in the dark

You show me the way,

Our friendship is the spark

Each and every day.

When I’m feeling down

You’re the one to pick me up,

Even when I frown

You tell me to keep my head up,

Walk tall

Keep strong

And distinguish right from wrong.

I wouldn’t be smiling

If it wasn’t for you.

My pen wouldn’t be writing

If I never met you,

My life, my mind

And my heart is at peace.
