Friends

The day we met we knew That our friendship would be true. We were always together And we thought we would be forever. But times got tough And things were getting rough. We were slowly growing apart. We didn’t know at the start. I was turning toward my life ahead. I was being led To another place in time With other things on my mind. You were turning away, But I didn’t know what to say. I tried to help you, But you pushed me away. Our lives were changing Day by day. We were growing apart Some people say. We tried our best to see it through, But it just wasn’t working out for me and you. So we went our separate ways through the years, And struggled through our tears. It tore us apart as you can see, But best friends we will always be.
