Friends

From one friend to another,

I write this down for you,

Though distance does part us,

True friends, we still are.

Common interests dost bind us,

Both in the world and in the church,

Religion helps to bring us closer together,

For to make us true friends.

So sorry am I that I have

Not written for so long,

Life has been quite busy,

It’s a poor excuse I know.

Letters and phone calls,

Help keep us up to date,

On our lives and our family’s,

For true friends we are.

But hopefully with school,

Letters will come and go more often,

And in contact, we will be again,

For true friends, we are, Oh friend of mine!
