Friends


Some friends are fairweather deep

and are only good to pass the time.

Others are close, and you know you can be whoever the hell

you really are with them.

And some bury themselves so deeply into you

into your very core

that tearing them out

would be like ripping your own soul out.

I am very glad I do not have a friend like that -

glad, and also very, very sad.
