Friends Come and Go
Friends come and go.
Best friends since kindergarten.
Torn apart in the ninth grade.
She ghosted me
Never spoke to me
No communication anymore
No more sleepovers
No more binge watching Netflix
No more sending funny memes
No more making silly “dance videos”
Why would she leave?
Why doesn’t she want to be my friend anymore?
She grew faster than me
Matured before me
Risked life more than me
It was all because she wanted to party
To get drunk
To meet new people
To no longer be my bestie
I wasn’t ready yet
To let her go
My best friend
Desperate to gain my friend back.
I asked her.
Why?
She laughed at me with her new friends and vanished into the highschool cafeteria.
I understood now.
People grow.
Grow into different directions.
Maybe she wasn’t suppose to be my BFF (Best friend forever)
Maybe this was suppose to happen.
Maybe it was a sign.
I enjoyed our friendship.
As you grow, you also grow out of people.
Away from people.
I understand now,
I shouldn’t expect so much from others.
Not everyone is going to be your friend forever
Sometimes people are meant to be your friend for a certain amount of time
Then they leave after they've taught you everything that was needed to be taught
Sometimes you just end up losing a good friend
Because friends come and go.
