Friend's Enemy

You've seen me smile You've seen me laugh And you'd think it was all for you But in fact, it's for me. You tell me all about him, And you smile when I smile Or you flush when I tease And you'd think it was all for you But in fact, it's for me. You write yourself a fantasy and tell it to me, And while I smile and encourage it Deep down, I want to tear it. You tell me about what transpires About how fate seems to toss you both together And I try to convince myself I feel nothing Though all I tell myself is a lie. And while I smile, You'd think it was for you. Though it is true I do it for you, But the best way to hide a weeping heart, Is with the smile of a Fool.

Love hurts but it's still one of the most beautiful things you can experience.
